Mithila Labs

Mithila Labs is a small independent studio. We make free web tools and reference pages, each built around one question people really ask.

The Zodiac Animal, the site you are on, answers one of those questions: which Chinese zodiac animal am I, and what does that mean?

How we work

We pick a narrow question, work out the answer properly, and put it on a page that loads quickly and stays out of the way. Where there is a calculation, we show how it works. Where something is tradition or opinion and not fact, we say so. You can read the details for this site on the methodology page.

What we are not

We are not astrologers, historians or a cultural institution, and we do not present ourselves as one. On this site, the dates and the arithmetic are things we check carefully. The personality descriptions are traditional ideas, passed on for interest and not as advice.

Is it free?

Yes. Nothing is behind a login or a paywall. We expect to cover running costs with a small amount of advertising.

Get in touch

Corrections, questions and ideas are welcome at hello@thezodiacanimal.com. If a date looks wrong, send us the page address and we will check it. You can also use the contact page.
