Spotted a wrong date or a broken link? Have a suggestion or a question about the Chinese zodiac? Email us:
hello@thezodiacanimal.com
We read every message and reply to most within a few days. The Zodiac Animal is published by Mithila Labs.
What's worth writing in about
The reports that help us most are specific: a wrong Chinese New Year date for a particular year, a compatibility pairing that links to the wrong page, a broken calculator result, or a fact in an article that doesn't match what you've read elsewhere. When you can, tell us the exact page URL and what looked off — it's the difference between us fixing something in minutes and having to guess which of 300-plus pages you mean.
What we can't really help with
We're not able to give personal astrology readings, tell you whether a specific relationship or business decision is a good idea, or provide a professional bāzì (eight-character) chart reading. Those are specialist services this site doesn't offer, and we'd rather say so directly than pretend a quick email exchange can substitute for that.
Press, partnerships and data requests
If you're reaching out about a partnership, a correction to how we've described your organization, or a data access/deletion request under GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA, mention that plainly in your subject line so it reaches the right process rather than the general inbox queue. See our privacy policy for how those requests are handled.
Before you write in about a "wrong" sign
The most common message we get is someone convinced the calculator gave them the wrong animal. Almost every time, the cause is the same: their birthday falls in January or early February, before that year's Chinese New Year, which means they belong to the previous year's animal rather than the one their birth year number would suggest at a glance. It's worth checking your exact date against our Chinese New Year date table before assuming the result is a bug — but if you've checked that and it still looks wrong, tell us anyway, because it's exactly the kind of thing we want caught.
Suggesting a new article or page
If there's a Chinese zodiac question you searched for and couldn't find a clear answer to anywhere — not just on this site — that's useful for us to hear. We prioritize new articles based partly on what real readers are actually asking, rather than guessing at topics in the abstract.
Reporting advertising issues
If an ad on this site looks broken, misleading or inappropriate, let us know which page it appeared on and roughly when. We don't personally select individual ads, but we can flag patterns to our advertising partner and, where possible, block specific advertisers.
Exercising a privacy request
If you're writing in under GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA to ask what data we hold or to request deletion, say so explicitly and include enough detail for us to locate anything relevant (though in most cases, as explained in our privacy policy, we simply don't hold personal data tied to your calculator use in the first place — there's often nothing to delete). We aim to acknowledge these requests within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.
What happens after you email us
A real person reads incoming messages — there's no automated ticket system standing between you and a reply. Simple corrections (a wrong date, a typo, a broken link) are usually fixed the same week. Bigger suggestions, like a request for a new article topic, get added to a working list and may take longer to show up on the site, since we balance new content against the ongoing work of maintaining what's already published.
