The calculator. It runs entirely in your browser. Your birth date is never sent to us or stored on any server.

Cookies & consent. On your first visit we ask whether you accept non-essential cookies (used for analytics and advertising). If you decline, only strictly necessary storage is used. You can change your choice any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Analytics. With your consent we use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count page views in aggregate. It does not identify you personally.

Advertising. With your consent this site may display ads from Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings. See also How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA and UK are served ads only through a Google-certified consent tool.

Your rights. If you are in the EEA, UK or California you may request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold. In practice we hold none that identifies you, but you can contact us at hello@thezodiacanimal.com.

What we don't do

We don't require an account or a login, so we don't hold usernames, passwords or profile data. We don't ask for your name, email or birth date to use the calculator, and the birth date you enter to find your sign is processed in your browser and discarded — it is never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere. We don't sell personal data, and we don't build a persistent profile of individual visitors.

Server logs

Like almost any website, the infrastructure that serves these pages keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a limited period, mainly for security and reliability purposes — detecting abuse, diagnosing outages, and similar operational needs. These logs are not used to build an advertising profile of you and are separate from the optional analytics and advertising cookies described above.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.

How consent choices are stored

Your cookie preference is stored locally in your browser, not on our servers, which is why clearing your browser's site data resets it to the default (asking again on your next visit). If you use multiple browsers or devices, you'll need to set your preference on each one separately, since the choice doesn't sync between them.

Third-party links

Some pages link out to other sources — almanacs, cultural references, or further reading. Once you leave this site, that other site's own privacy practices apply, not ours. We don't control and aren't responsible for how third-party sites handle your data.

How ad personalization actually works here

When you consent to advertising cookies, Google and its advertising partners may use information about your visits to this and other sites to show ads that are more relevant to you, rather than a generic rotation. This works through cookies or similar technology stored in your browser, not through anything we personally track about you as an individual. You can review or reset what Google knows for ad purposes at any time through Google's Ads Settings, independently of any setting on this site.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no accepted industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so like most sites, we currently rely on the cookie consent choice described above rather than on Do Not Track signals specifically.

Data retention

Since we don't collect personal data through the calculator itself, there is no birth-date or personal record to retain in the first place. Aggregate, anonymous analytics data (page views, not individual visitor records) is kept only as long as needed to understand how the site is used, and is not tied back to any individual.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how this site handles data — for example, adding a new type of cookie or a new advertising partner — we'll update the "last updated" date above. Checking back periodically is the simplest way to stay current, since we don't maintain an email list to notify visitors of policy changes.
